We have exciting news. We now have confirmation that FliP (Family Literacy in Prisons) training will begin on 4th December 2019. This will be ongoing and we will then be up and running in HMP La Moye by Spring 2020. We are all thrilled and cannot wait for our councillors to be start their work.
FliP is an evidence-based University-Charity-Prisons collaboration which works with parents by giving them the understanding of why literacy is so important along with the opportunity to share literature promoting activities with their children. It has offered prisoners an incentive to turn their life around and not re-offend as they realise how important their role is in their children’s lives.
