NEWS: The Catholic churches in Jersey re-open in two stage process

The re-opening of the Catholic churches in Jersey will take place on 15th June and happen in two stages.

The first stage will last from 15th June 2020 until 30th June 2020. During this time the following churches will re-open for designated times of personal prayer:

  • SACRED HEART (St Aubin):                   Tuesdays, 5pm – 8pm
  • OUR LADY’S (St Martin):                        Thursdays, 5pm - 8pm
  • ST PATRICK’S (Samares):                      Saturdays, 9.30am – 12.30pm

The Polish community under the direction of the Polish Chaplain, father Jacek Malecki:

  • OUR LADY’S (St Martin):                        Fridays, 5pm – 8pm 

Please note that each church will only admit the number of worshippers permitted by the Government’s social distancing norms in place on any given day. Currently this number is restricted to a maximum of forty. Admittance will be at the main door, on a ‘one-in, one-out’ procedure, and by invitation from a parish steward.

As from 1stJuly and until Jersey enters level one of its safe exit framework, a provisional weekday and Sunday Mass timetable will apply.

As from 1st July the daily livestreaming of Mass from St. Thomas will cease although a pre-recorded Sunday Mass will be available on https://catholicchurch.org.je/

How to book the mass attendance?

Due to social distancing, only a given number of places will be available for Masses open to the public. At the present time this number is restricted to forty persons. It will be necessary to book a place.

Bookings for all Sunday Masses will close at 12 Noon the Friday before. You may only book once a month for Sunday Mass and only one week in advance. No multiple bookings will be accepted.

All such bookings must be made to the relevant Parish Office for the Church you wish to attend. You can do it by emailing:

We are required by the Government to facilitate contact tracing so when booking you must provide the following information:

  • Your name,
  • Your contact details,
  • The church and Mass time you wish to attend,
  • The number of your household attending (you may not book for another household).

If there is availability you and your named household you will be placed on the list for that Mass. To gain admittance you must be on this list.

Please note that NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
